Shop History

Over 25 years of Supplying Quality Furniture

Actually there have been successful shops on this site for many years. The earliest we know of is a haberdashery in the 1930s.

There has been the well known "Marlow's" which was a Builders' Merchants and before Woody's came Europa Tiles.

In the 1980s a Green Cross Code advert was filmed outside. People also know us for the large wooden pirate that used to stand outside and was somewhat of a local landmark.

We often have customers come in and tell us the used to work here and describe how things used to be.

Woody's was opened by larger than life celebrity, Barbara Windsor!

If you have any photos of that opening or indeed any photos or memories of Woody's in the past we would love you to share them with us.
